We’re looking forward to the interview!

What to Expect…

Participating in a Visual Synthesis…

  • Before our phone call, I’ll share the questions I plan to ask. Feel free to clarify or suggest revisions—this may be my first time discussing the subject, so some of my questions might feel a bit raw or loosely phrased. While I’ll refer to these questions during the interview, there’s no pressure to stick to a script—it’s encouraged that you speak casually and naturally.

  • On the scheduled date, please join the Zoom call at the agreed time. We’ll start with a brief introduction and address any questions you have before diving in. I’ll set a timer for the initial chit chat (~5 minutes) to account for introductions and resolving any tech issues. Once the timer goes off, we’ll begin the session and start recording.

I’ll be recording my screens (including my laptop and the iPad I’ll use for drawing) and using a backup audio recorder. The video recording of the Zoom call, including our faces, will not be shared publicly.

Only snippets of the drawing captured on my iPad and our final audio will appear in the final shared animated recording.

  • During the session, we’ll work through the revised questions I shared with you beforehand. As I ask questions, I’ll be actively listening and sketching our discussion in real time. Periodically, I’ll share my screen so you can watch the visual artifact take shape. If you find the live drawing distracting, just let me know—we can stop screen sharing at any time.

  • At the end of the session (lasting up to 1.5 hours or however long it takes to cover the questions), we’ll wrap things up. The drawing I’ve completed by the end will serve as your initial raw visual artifact.

After the session, I’ll send over payment for your time.

  • After our interview, I’ll move into post-production. I’ll refine the visual artifact to reflect the flow of our discussion and complete any unfinished elements from the session. I’ll sync the audio with the visual artifact, editing the audio to remove filler words like “um” and any long pauses—similar to a polished podcast.

Once the edits are complete, I’ll share a transcript of the final audio file with you for review. You’ll have the opportunity to request the removal of any sound bites that don’t feel right or that you’d prefer to exclude.

The final result will be a video clip of our conversation unfolding in real time, paired with an animated version of the drawing (again, no faces will be featured in the final output—only the drawing and audio).

  • This final animation will be posted publicly to this website for you to access and share. You will be notified ahead of time when the artifact will be accessible.

  • Once post-production is complete, I’ll send you a ‘digital goody bag’ filled with content for your social media. This will include a selection of image files for your Instagram feed and video files you can use for reels. Additionally, I’d love to create some physical artifacts—such as a final poster, postcards, or stickers—and send them your way to share with others.
